The Plumbing Division

Red Seal plumbers.
Chilliwack & the Fraser Valley.

Huntley’s in-house plumbing division. Red Seal certified plumbers, ticketed gas fitters, in-house on every Huntley renovation and custom home, and handling standalone plumbing work across Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley.

Quick Answer

Huntley's in-house plumbing division. Red Seal certified plumbers covering renovation plumbing, hot water tanks, fixture installs, drain work, gas fitting, and emergency service across Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley. Trade permits pulled directly through our BC plumbing license. Part of every Huntley renovation, available for standalone plumbing work.

Why we added plumbing

Electrical and plumbing are the trades that define a renovation.

When we ran Huntley as an electrical company, we kept watching projects get held up by sub-trade plumbers. Homeowners would have a great electrician lined up and still wait three weeks because the plumber could not get on site. General contractors kept asking us to handle both. We finally could.

We built out a plumbing division for the same reason we built Huntley Electrical: because the quality of a renovation depends on the quality of the mechanical trades, and coordinating across companies is where projects go sideways.

Today, Huntley Plumbing is the plumbing arm of every Huntley construction project, and handles standalone plumbing work across Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley. Same standards as the rest of the company. Same people start to finish.

What we handle

Plumbing services.

Renovation plumbing

Kitchen and bathroom renovations, fixture relocations, shower valve upgrades, drain routing. Our plumbers are on every Huntley renovation.

Hot water tanks

Tank installation and replacement (gas and electric), tankless water heater installations, recirculation systems for faster hot water.

Fixture installation

Faucets, toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, dishwashers. Proper installation with warranties that actually stick.

New construction

Full-house rough-in and finish plumbing for custom homes, additions, and suites. Code-compliant drain and vent planning, supply line sizing.

Service & repair

Leaks, clogs, pressure problems, water heater issues, frozen pipe recovery. Standalone service work, not only part of bigger projects.

Secondary suite plumbing

Separate drain routing for basement suites, sewage ejector pumps for below-grade bathrooms, separable plumbing systems where code requires.

Commercial plumbing

Tenant improvements, restaurant kitchens, commercial restrooms, accessible fixture compliance, grease interceptors. After-hours available.

Gas fitting (licensed in-house)

Ticketed gas fitters on our team. Gas line installation, conversions, and connections for ranges, tankless water heaters, BBQs, fireplaces, and gas dryers. Most general contractors sub gas out to a third trade. We pull the gas permit directly and bring it under one schedule.

Typical jobs & pricing

Removal and replacement of 40–60 gal tank. Gas or electric.

Plumbing FAQs

Before we turn the water on.

Water heaters, fixtures, emergencies, permits. The questions our Red Seal plumbers hear most.

  • Employees. Our plumbers are full-time Huntley staff, Red Seal certified, working exclusively on Huntley projects. This is different from most general contractors, who coordinate plumbing through outside sub-trades.
  • Both. Huntley Plumbing runs as its own division and handles standalone work: water heater replacements, fixture upgrades, leak repairs, new construction plumbing. You don't need to be doing a bigger renovation to hire us.
  • If the bathroom is below the level of the main sewer line leaving your house (which most basement bathrooms are), you need either gravity drain routing that runs uphill to the main line (rarely feasible) or a sewage ejector pump that lifts waste up to the main line. We assess this at the site visit and include it in the quote if needed.
  • Tank heaters store pre-heated water (40, 60, or 80 gallons) and refill after use. Tankless heaters heat water on-demand as it flows through. Tankless is more energy-efficient and provides endless hot water but has a higher upfront cost and requires adequate gas supply. For a family of 4+, tankless often makes sense long-term. We can walk through your specific situation.
  • Warning signs: unexplained increases in your water bill, water staining on walls or ceilings, musty smells, warm spots on floors (for hot water leaks), sound of running water when nothing is on. Don't wait. Hidden leaks get expensive fast. Call us and we'll locate it.
  • Yes, we respond to plumbing emergencies including burst pipes, major leaks, backed-up sewers, and flooding. Shut off your main water valve first if it is safe to do so, then send us a message through the Book a Design Consultation form and flag it as urgent.
  • In BC, new fixture installations, drain modifications, water heater replacements, and most work beyond simple faucet swaps require permits. Our in-house plumbing division is licensed to pull plumbing permits directly, which is faster than waiting on a sub-trade.
  • Yes. Chilliwack water quality varies by location. Rural properties on wells often need filtration, and hard water shows up in certain city neighborhoods. We can test your water and recommend whole-home filtration, water softening, or point-of-use systems.
